The CMC piezoelectric measurement chain is actually more than just a transducer – it is a calibrated measurement chain that is simple to put into operation thanks to “Plug and Measure.”Reliable measurement results thanks to perfect interplay of all components.

This is how the CMC measurement chain supports TEDS, the Transducer Electronic Data Sheet. Which means: Plug and Measure is now also available in piezo technology. Connect – start measuring – get reliable test results. In other words: you no longer need to go through parameterizing the individual components of the measurement chain.

The flange-mounted CFT transducers do not require any pretensioning and thus no additional calibrating of the complete system. A wide range of measurement tasks can be covered with a single transducer type. Nominal (rated) forces ranging from 5kN up to 120 kN are available.

The CMC zoom function provides additional reliability: Use the second measuring range to view overload-critical sections at high resolution – like looking through a magnifying glass. Extra comfort which normally is only available with strain gage technology-based transducers.

CSB4/1 summing box

Simplify the installation of piezoelectric sensors. The CSB4/1 summing box enables up to four piezoelectric sensors to be connected in parallel to an amplifier input. It can be fastened with screws and features electrical isolation of enclosure and sensor shielding.

All cables for piezoelectric transducers from HBM are particularly noise-free and can be used over the sensors’ entire temperature range.

The main specifications at a glance:

  • Temperature range: -55 to +200 degrees C
  • Shielding: Semi-conducting intermediate layer, silver-coated copper braid
  • Sheath: FPM

  • 10-32 UNF plug on both sides, however, compared to 1-KAB143 with massive plug protection
  • O-ring seal at sensor for extremely harsh conditions of use
  • Suitable for all sensors with plug, CSB summing box and CMA amplifier

1-KAB176

  • Cable length: 2 or 3 m
  • One side with type 10-32 UNF plug, other cable side with BNC plug
  • For connection of all sensors with plug, CSB summing box and CMD digital charge amplifier
